Perfect bound booklets offer a polished, book-style finish that makes a strong impression. Pages are gathered and glued into a flat spine — the same binding style used for paperback books, catalogs, and professional reports. The result is a clean, squared-off edge that feels substantial, refined, and built to be kept.
Perfect binding is a strong choice for annual reports, product catalogs, training manuals, publications, programs, and reference materials that need a professional book-style presentation. Bellia offers 5.5" × 8.5" and 8.5" × 11" perfect bound booklets with page counts from 40 to 120 pages and a selection of gloss, matte, and uncoated inside paper stocks with gloss or matte cover stocks. Quantities are available from 100 to 1,000 booklets.
Based in Woodbury, NJ, Bellia has been producing professional print for South Jersey businesses since 1973.
Perfect binding is ideal when your booklet needs to feel more like a finished publication than a stapled handout. It gives catalogs, reports, manuals, and programs a clean square spine and professional shelf presence.
Perfect bound booklets are available from 40 to 120 pages and work especially well when you want the substantial feel of a book-style publication. For shorter booklets, saddle stitching may be a better fit.
If your booklet will be saved, referenced, handed to clients, or used as a formal presentation piece, perfect binding gives it the weight and finish customers expect.
Download the template for your booklet size. Templates include trim marks, bleed area, and safe zone guides. Set up each page at the single-page size — do not set up as spreads. Allow extra margin on the binding edge of inside pages so important content is not hidden near the spine. Need help? Call us at 856.845.2234 or email quotes@belliaprinting.com.
Perfect binding is a professional book-style binding where pages are gathered, trimmed, and glued into a flat spine. It creates a clean, squared-off edge similar to a paperback book. Depending on the page count, paper stock, and resulting spine width, there may be enough room to include a title or other artwork on the spine.
Saddle stitching uses staples through the center fold and works well for shorter booklets. Perfect binding uses adhesive along a flat spine and is better suited for higher page counts, catalogs, annual reports, manuals, programs, and other publications that need a polished, book-style finish.
The spine size changes based on the page count and paper selected. More pages or heavier paper create a thicker booklet, which requires a wider spine. The ordering calculator displays the correct spine size and cover dimensions for your selected options.
Yes. The page count includes the cover. For example, a 40-page perfect bound booklet includes 4 cover pages and 36 inside pages.
Set up each inside page individually at the final single-page size rather than as reader spreads. Include 0.125" bleed on all sides and keep important text, page numbers, logos, and other critical content safely inside the trim edge. Allow extra margin near the binding edge so important content does not become difficult to see near the spine. Use the cover dimensions and spine width provided for your selected page count and paper options when preparing the cover artwork.
Gloss paper has a shiny finish that makes photographs and colors appear more vibrant. Matte paper has a softer, low-glare finish that creates a more understated appearance. The best choice depends on the content, design, and intended use of your booklet.
Submit a print-ready PDF in CMYK color mode, with inside pages arranged individually in the intended reading order and built at the final trim size. Prepare the cover using the correct cover dimensions and spine width for your selected specifications. Before submitting your order, carefully review your artwork, spelling, page order, layout, and sizing to make sure everything is correct.
Yes. After uploading your artwork and adding your perfect bound booklets to the shopping cart, you can download a low-resolution PDF proof before proceeding to checkout. Use the proof to review artwork placement, sizing, orientation, page order, and overall appearance. Carefully check spelling, page numbers, photographs, contact information, and other important details before completing your order. If Bellia’s in-house design team creates or prepares your booklet artwork, we’ll provide a design proof for your approval before it goes to print.
